The eighteenth-century Villa of Montegranelli still retains the name of the original owners: the Counts Guidi of Romanian and Montegranelli.
During the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the fortified palace built on existing structures is transformed into a country residence and in the eighteenth century, which was sold to the Marquis Sources Biscaccianti, was adapted to the stylistic canons of the time. At the end of the eighteenth century the villa appears in the Cadastre Bartoli, where he represented "the palace with the Labyrinth and a circular grove nearby."
In the nineteenth century appears in the register Gregorian "always with shapes similar to those of today but with external arrangement of green far more important." They were set on large avenues orthogonal, of which survives today, only the eastern lined with cypresses, and a large area to the formal garden, now barely recognizable in the context of the landscape.

It was the early twentieth century when the brothers Vincenzo and Salvatore, the latter promising tenor, emigrated to the United States to seek their fortune. Fortune that came in a very short time thanks to the many sacrifices, but above all to the beautiful voice of Salvatore, a passionate interpreter of Italian opera in New York theaters. But fate wanted the singer to pass away due to an incurable disease and Vincenzo found himself heartbroken and alone. So he decided to return to his native land and, with the savings he had set aside with his brother during the years abroad, he bought a plot of land in the town of Linguaglossa, on the slopes of Etna. Here he married a girl from the village and together they began to take care of their possessions, dedicating the cultivation of the land to vineyards and olive groves and thus throwing themselves into the trade of olive oil and wine. Today, Villa Neri Resort & SPA, an exclusive hotel with 24 rooms, a gourmet restaurant, a wellness center and a large salt water swimming pool framed by a lush garden welcomes you.
